Similar idea on the Q300 but not the same design. There's no interchangeable parts between Q300 and Q400 landing gear.

Very good review. I flew the sq 78X from Perth to Singapore. UPS: they have the live tv, at least you get to see the information upon arrival into Singapore. Downs: the economy class seat. It was so squished and crammed up. The entertainment system can be slow at times.

I'm heading to the US from singapore for my first flight in over a decade, and this route was one of the options. after doing comparisons, reading reviews, watching videos and a whole ton of research, I'm glad I did not choose this option despite the cheaper airfare

because the q400's landing mechanism consists of something of a roller. there's something that's blocking the roller. then when the pilots activate the landing gear, that thing that's blocking the roller will release, causing the roller to drop and making the landing gear go down fast.
I am flying this route next week, but on the 747-800 and on first class. I've heard an incredible amount of negative reviews on economy, but I suspect the crew is instructed to act nice up in the front?!
I wish you a great flight! I can't say I have experienced first class service before but I would assume this is a major focus for airlines to perform at their best! Safe travels
